Summary:
Responsible for day-to-day care of children under the supervision of a Day Care Teacher.
Promote a positive learning environment for children.
Assists with education programs that comply with local and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Efficiently communicate and coordinate with day care teachers and assist teaching daily lesson plans.
Offer individual support to students in small groups to promote the understanding of more challenging concepts.
Assist the day care teacher with the safety of the students inside of the classroom, during field trips and on playground.
Ensure students adhere to the school or daycare stated rules and policies.
Help children participate in activities including crafts, games and other educating activities.
Provide additional assistance to students who have special needs.
Ability to manage potentially challenging behavior from students and maintain a professional and patient demeanor Experience supporting positive relationships with children and adults in a learning environment EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High School diploma or its equivalent or one year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age.
Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Must have basic computer knowledge including Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook and PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and must infrequently lift and/or move up to one hundred pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually highly noisy.
